Pravin Gordhan takes over to try and save Zuma's disasterous decision
President Zuma's disastrous decision to fire Nhlanhla Nene and replace him with unknown and inexperienced van Rooyen has virtually sunk the South African economy. Since firing Nene, President Zuma has watched silently as the South African economy took a beating, the Rand sharply devalued, and the yield on government debt sharply increased. Four days into the job, van Rooyen is replaced with reliable and experienced Pravin Gordhanto in an attempt to save the situation.
